Since 2009, the GDCh Paint and Coatings Chemistry Division's presentation prizes have been awarded for the two best presentations at the coatings conference. They include a certificate, prize money of 750 euros (1st place) and 250 euros (2nd place) and an attractive trophy. The best poster is honoured with a certificate, prize money of 250 euros and also with the trophy. The exclusive production stands for the excellence of the presenters who are honoured with the prizes.
An independent jury appointed by the specialist group executive committee assesses the scientific conference contributions according to scientific content and quality.
The following conference prizes were awarded at the 87th Lacktagung in Aachen:

Young Scientist Award: Rene Reichmann, University of Duisburg-Essen & Niederrhein University of Applied Sciences, Biobased phytic acid esters as sustainable hardener components in corrosion protection systems
Poster prize: Lea Viktoria Rubbert, BYK Additives & Hochschule Niederrhein, Tailored RAFT copolymers in solvent and water-based systems: Advanced wetting and dispersing additives
