§1 The Executive Board of the Division of Nuclear Chemistry decides to award a doctoral prize of the Division. The number of prize winners is limited to three per call.
§2 The prize is awarded for an outstanding dissertation in the field of nuclear chemistry. As a rule, the submitted work should be completed and evaluated in the period between the annual meetings of the specialist group (usually two years).
§3 University lecturers and members of the specialist group with a doctorate are eligible to nominate candidates. The members of the executive board and advisory board of the department form the jury. They decide by a simple majority of votes. In the event of a tie, the chair of the division has the casting vote.
§4 Applications must be submitted in electronic form to the GDCh office. The application contains the following documents:
● Nomination letter from the proposer incl. justification of the award worthiness
● Dissertation and a selected publication with justification of the selection
● Doctoral degree certificate or provisional certificate,
● CV with list of publications / lectures / posters / scholarships & prizes
§5 The prize includes a certificate of award, stating the merits of the honoured person, and prize money of 500 euros.
§6 The prizewinner reports on the award-winning work in an invited lecture at the specialist group conference.
§7 Amendments to these statutes are only possible with a 2/3 majority of the specialist group board.
Decision of the Executive Board of 28 April 2025, Frankfurt am Main
The Board of the GDCh Nuclear Chemistry Division invites applications for the Nuclear Chemistry PhD Prize to be awarded in 2026. The prize will be awarded at the annual conference of the division, which will take place from 22 to 24 September 2026 in Mainz.
The prize is awarded for an outstanding dissertation in the field of nuclear chemistry. The dissertation must have been completed and assessed in the period from 1 March 2024 to 31 March 2026. The prize consists of a certificate recognising the merits of the recipient and prize money of 500 euros. The award winner will also be given the opportunity to report on the award-winning work in an invited lecture at the annual conference of the specialist group. The doctoral prize can be awarded to up to three winners.
University lecturers and members of the specialist group with a doctorate are eligible to nominate candidates. The letter of nomination, including the reasons for the award, should be accompanied by the dissertation, a selected publication with reasons for the selection, a CV with a list of publications, lectures, posters, scholarships and prizes, as well as the doctoral certificate or a provisional certificate.Proposals - self-applications are excluded - must be submitted in electronic form by 31 March 2026 to the Executive Board of the Nuclear Chemistry Division, n.buerger@gdch.de.
