Website of the Division

The elucidation and manipulation of molecular and cell biological processes, including the functions and interactions of proteins, using chemical tools (e.g. small molecules) is the central task of chemical biology. The following four societies

  • Gesellschaft für Chemische Technik und Biotechnologie e.V. (DECHEMA),
  • Deutsche Pharmazeutische Gesellschaft e.V. (DPhG),
  • Gesellschaft für Biochemie und Molekularbiologie e.V. (GBM) and
  • Gesellschaft Deutscher Chemiker e.V. (GDCh)

therefore founded the Joint Division of Chemical Biology on 10 May 2005 during BioPerspectives 2005.

Membership: The joint division is open to all members of the societies without additional membership fees. GDCh members simply fill in the Application for personal membership (electronically fillable PDF) and send it to the GDCh Membership Service.

The Joint Division Chemical Biology is not a division in the sense of the GDCh statutes.
