§1 The Executive Board of the Nuclear Chemistry Division decides to award a prize of the Division under the name "Fritz Strassmann Prize".
§2 The Fritz Strassmann Prize is awarded to established scientists who have made outstanding achievements in the field of nuclear chemistry.
§3 As a rule, the prize can be awarded every four years.
§4 All members of the specialist group are entitled to nominate candidates. Self-applications are excluded. The members of the Executive Board and Advisory Board of the specialist group decide on the award by a simple majority of votes. In the event of a tie, the vote of the chair of the specialist group shall be decisive.§5 Applications must be submitted to the GDCh office in electronic form. The proposal must be accompanied by:
§6 If possible, the award should be presented in conjunction with a specialist group conference and a lecture by the award winner. The award includes a certificate that highlights the merits of the honouree. The prize is endowed with 2500,- Euro.
§7 Amendments to these statutes are only possible with a 2/3 majority of the Specialist Group Board.
Decision of the Executive Board of 28 April 2025, Frankfurt am MainThe Executive Committee of the GDCh Nuclear Chemistry Division invites applications for the Fritz Strassmann Prize to be awarded in 2026. The prize will be awarded at the annual conference of the division, which will take place in Mainz from 22 to 24 September 2026.
