The importance of natural products in the development of cytostatic drugs

Drug-based cancer therapy is a constantly growing field in pharmaceutical research and a wide variety of drug classes are used in this area. The most important classes of cytostatic drugs include natural substances from a wide variety of biological sources and analogues and derivatives derived from them. In the lecture, these active ingredients will be presented, as well as the possibilities and limitations of their provision on an industrial scale.
