The GDCh Electrochemistry Division celebrates its 65th anniversary in 2025. Get involved with an event at your location and make electrochemistry and its importance for a future-proof and more sustainable society even more visible.
A financial grant from the GDCh Electrochemistry Division will support you in organising your event.
For the organisation of a symposium, colloquium or lecture with at least one lecturer from an external (not own) institution per event max. 1,000 euros will be reimbursed. Invoices for all expenses must be submitted for reimbursement. A maximum of one event per month and institution will be funded.

All other costs are non-refundable. Reimbursement is limited to the total amount depending on the region. Costs in excess of this must be paid as a personal contribution
Q1: Can several events be organised at the same institution? Can several applications for funding be submitted by one member of the Electrochemistry Division?
A1: Yes. However, more than one event per month and institution is not eligible for funding.
Q2: Lecturers from an institution in Germany, Europe and Japan are taking part in the event. How is the grant calculated?
A2: A maximum of 1,000 euros per event will be subsidised. The maximum amount of the grant per speaker is differentiated by region.
Q3: Three lecturers (University of Hamburg, TU Berlin, TUM) are taking part in the event. How is the subsidy calculated?
A3: For lecturers, the subsidy is calculated by region. In this case, max. 200 euros for lecturers from an institution in Germany. In this case, a maximum of 600 euros (3x 200 euros) will be subsidised.
Q4: How can the GDCh Electrochemistry Division and its 65th anniversary be publicised in a suitable way?
A4: All forms of (scientific) communication are suitable here. From press releases to social media posts. A poster template and a PowerPoint slide are also provided. The hashtags #GDCh and #GDChElectrochemistry should be used for announcements and subsequent reporting.
Q5: How long does it take to decide whether my event will be funded?
A5: Financial grants are awarded on a first come, first served basis. We aim to make a decision within 4 weeks.
Q6: By when must the grant be settled?
A6: The submission of the travel grant by the speakers must take place within 21 days after the event. Applications submitted 6 weeks after the date of the event cannot be considered (cut-off deadline). Here to the form
Q7: How is the travel expense subsidy accounted for?
A7: The corresponding GDCh travel expense form and the associated receipts/invoices are uploaded to a cloud as one (1) pdf file only.
