Elements and element species working group

The working group currently comprises 14 active and 19 corresponding members. The working group is open to members from the following areas:

  • Private and contract laboratories
  • State research organisations
  • Federal authorities
  • Manufacturers

  • Tasks and objectives of the working group

    • Assuring the quality and accuracy of element determinations
      Processing analytical issues, for example in food, animal feed and environmental samples
    • Processing analytical issues
    • Development of tried-and-tested methods for the determination of elements and element traces in food, biological samples, food, biological samples, consumer goods and cosmetic products
    • Development of methods for the determination of elements using multi-element techniques
    • Development of methods for the determination of element species
    • Development of statements and processing of legal issues in the field of element analysis
    • Organisation and implementation of training events
      Workshops on current topics in element analysis
    • Collaboration with national and international expert committees (DIN, CEN)
    • Cooperation with § 64-LFGB working groups
