Who we are - What we do

Training - Profession - Further Education

The Vocational Training Working Group (AGBB) of the German Chemical Society (GDCh) was founded in 2009. It represents the interests of members of non-academic chemical professions such as chemical-technical assistants, chemical laboratory assistants and chemical technicians.

The AGBB has set itself the task of...

  • to bring together all people who are completing or have completed training at school or in the workplace in the chemical sector and related fields,
  • to strengthen the non-academic professions in chemistry,
  • to provide advice on the subject of "vocational training",
  • to create a platform for the exchange of ideas and experiences,
  • to expand the range of further training courses for non-academic professional groups.

The AGBB...

  • works independently of, but in exchange with, trade unions, employers' associations and organisations of the chemical industry,
  • maintains contact with the responsible ministries of the federal states, the Standing Conference of Ministers of Education and Cultural Affairs (KMK), professional associations and other interest groups on training and legal issues,
  • regularly exchanges information with schools and training companies in order to assess the current situation of all intermediate chemical professions.
