Working group 1 - Events

Status quo

Since its inception, the organisation and implementation of events have been an integral and attractive part of SEC activities. Preparations for the 10th annual conference in 2026 are almost complete. In addition, the symposium "...Yes, but how", technology tours and symposia/posters are regularly organised at the GDCh-WiFo/SCiFo and at specialist group conferences of "Chemieunterricht," in some cases together with other specialist groups.

Objectives

The high quality standards of SEC events must be maintained in the future. For our annual conferences, we want to attract the most renowned speakers to present on current scientific and socio-political topics. This also applies to our symposium. The technology tours should lead to companies or institutes that can offer interesting insights into their work.

At the same time, we need to ensure that there is always new blood on the organising committees etc. and that new members are involved.

Projects under consideration

  • SEC annual meetings every two years as before, perhaps at the same time as the JCF symposium, with GECCos.
  • Symposia "...yes, but how?" once a year in autumn in cooperation with DECHEMA and other specialist groups
  • Technology tours twice a year if possible
  • Participation with presentation or poster at the Science Forum and at selected conferences of other specialist groups
