Nuclear research and legal history in Karlsruhe

The 15th SEC Technology Tour took us to Karlsruhe on 21 and 22 Jul 25. First to Eggenstein-Leopoldshafen, north of Karlsruhe. There we visited the exhibition on the history of nuclear energy in Germany on the site of the former Karlsruhe Nuclear Research Centre (KfK), now KIT.

The visit also included a tour of the neutrino experiment KATRIN and the synchrotron KARA.

On the evening of 21 July, we met for a convivial get-together at the Badisch' Brauhaus in Karlsruhe city centre.

The appeal to the Federal Constitutional Court (BVerfG) always plays a major role. That's why we booked the guided tour "Karlsruhe in Law" from the extensive range offered by the Tourist Information Office in Karlsruhe for the morning of 22 Jul 25. Karlsruhe has been the seat of the Federal Court of Justice and the Federal Constitutional Court since 1951. We experienced a guided tour of Karlsruhe's legal history, including the Platz der Grundrechte and the BVerfG building.
