SEC at the GDCh Science Forum Chemistry in Munich

The GDCh Science Forum on Chemistry was planned to take place in Munich from 29 Aug - 1 Sep 2021, but the coronavirus threw a spanner in the works and the entire Science Forum was held online. Despite this, the senior chemistry experts organised an online lecture afternoon there on Tuesday, 31 Aug, with a Munich-related motto:

Munich 21- No fun without chemistry

Four topics, four lectures:

  • Beer: Prof. Dr Thomas Becker (TU Munich): The keyboard of enzymes in the brewing process
  • Sport: Dr Josef Wünsch, (BASF SE, Ludwigshafen): When polymers become a running business
  • Art: Prof. Dr Heinz Langhals (LRZ-Leibnitz Computing Centre of the Bavarian Academy of Sciences and Humanities, Munich): Chemistry or art: tension between rationality and aesthetics ... or simply a complement?
  • Science: Dr Susanne Rehn-Taube (Deutsches Museum, Munich): Chemistry at the Deutsches Museum - yesterday, today, tomorrow

The lectures were well attended, on average by around 60 participants.
